I'll admit that I gave all the others half-assed tries but although I grew up in the age of DOS I don't like programs and not using a GUI. McLawl crashes on a regular basis for me and I can not determine how to use it properly so I gave up. After attempting all the other software on that site I lastly tried fcraft and, bam, immediate like. I can simply load any map file I would like into the worlds part via the settings program AND, the explanation I needed to search for other server software program to start with is that I made a huge (for my computer) map 384x320x384 in omen and the default minecraft server program kept kicking me with the message "Hack Detected: A lot Lag" I played the server from fCraft for about 3-4 hours final night with no issues whatsoever. Very stable, straightforward to use, appears to have lots of configurable options. Minecraft Servers 'd positively advocate fCraft over the others particularly if you're a novice like me.
